Weekend ramblings...

Wow, what a beautiful weekend! We had a great time visiting with family on Saturday in Vassar, even had a little family football game (Mark is still stiff from that!). Yesterday (Sunday) we spent the entire day getting the garage cleaned out and ready for a garage sale later this month. I cleaned every room searching for things to put in the sale~ it feels good to have things organized and cleaned out!

Tonight I will be doing the Chatterbox Style class at The Zone. So far I have 11 students, which is AWESOME! I had so much fun using the Chatterbox stuff again, Love, love, love it!!

Well, my robin babies are leaving the nest. There ended up being three of them. The first left yesterday while we were out playing in the yard. The second left last night and the third little guy is still hanging on the ledge, too scared to make the leap. He was there last night, and is still there this morning. I was worried about the little guy this morning when he was still there, but I just saw daddy jump up there and give him a little encouragement. He keeps jumping around on the ledge and he is chirping up a storm. I will keep watching him this morning until he leaves. I just love watching this process, it's really amazing. I would be crushed if they didn't come back every year.

We got a few bird feeders and hung them out in the back this weekend. We have some Blue Spruce pine trees in the backyard and you would not believe the birds with these feeders! I love watching them play. Haley (our dog) is going nuts with all the whistling. She is barking up a storm with all the noise. The neighbors are going to love us!

Well, I am off to The Zone to get things together for tonight. I also need to get samples ready for Wednesday's Ad Challenge class. So much to do, so little scrapping time! I am totally feeling inspired right now, so things are moving along quickly. That's a great thing!:)

Have a great day, and hope you get to enjoy the sunshine!

That's really cool about the robins, I hope that last guy makes it out alright. Garage sales are good things, feeling all organized after purging stuff, I wish I lived on a street where we could have one!

The whole baby bird thing is a miracle. I have watched two broods from nest to fledging this year and I get tears in my eyes whenever I think of their fortitude and their strength in the face of so many odds. My last nest is a red-bellied woodpecker nest high in a tree in my front yard. The babies are sticking their heads out of the hole so far this morning that I am afraid they will topple out and fall many feet to the ground. Both parents sat on the eggs and both parents have been madly feeding their starving babies for the last two weeks. They only have one brood a year, but robins have two broods. Do you think they will be back to nest again? Have they come back twice in one year before this? My first little babies were chickadee babies who lived in a nest in a bluebird box in my garden. Their nest is made of the softest moss imaginable. Beautiful.
