What a crazy week. I know, I say that all the time, but it never ends! We started the garage sale on Thursday and it has been nuts ever since. Not that the sale is busy or anything, but my sister and her family came to visit for a couple days on top of that! Why is it that my family feels the need to bring the whole darn family when they come everytime? It's like "oh, you're remodeling the bathroom and you need some help? Okay, we'll be there", and in comes the whole family of 7, with no bathroom. Okay, so that is not a true story, but you get the picture. I am trying to have a garage sale and her kids (as lovely as they are, I do love them very much) are playing with every toy. stickers are falling off. everything is a mess. and on top of that, I now have to make sure they all have somewhere to sleep, clean up after them, and make them something to eat the entire time. I am normally very calm and collected, but this about drove me crazy!! After spending all week getting the garage put together and getting things just right, it was a mess before the sale. My house was a disaster by the time they left and I couldn't wait to get things back to normal and claim it all as mine again.
So that is what I did tonight. Mark worked late, D went to the Tigers game, and Nate took a nice long nap. I cleaned up the house, got started on Monday night's altered art page project, took a small nap and took a trip to the burgs of Trenton, New Jersey with Stephanie Plum. Yep, #12 is here and I got started on it tonight. Sure there are other things I could be doing, but nothing more that I want to do. Love these books.
The Sale~ well, it has been interesting. Interesting people from all walks of life have stopped by. Not as busy as I would like, but I am getting rid of a few things that I thought I never would. You know, the ugly wind chime from Aunt Linda that you're sure came from the dollar store, or the personalized snowman regift you got from Aunt Karen (this actually happened, had her name printed accross the front and she gave it to me as a Christmas gift!). Some of those things have gone, but the kids clothes and toys, which I thought would go in a heartbeat, are still there. I think there are so many sales this weekend, because the sales are city wide, that there is just too much competition. We will go another half day tomorrow and see how that goes. I have a hair apnt. tomorrow at 1:30. Hey, I have my priorities!
I know, not all that interesting, but it's real life. Besides, I don't think anyone is reading this anyway. Have a great night and thanks if you are!:)
